Tricel Novo works in three stages
Stage 1: the primary settlement chamber
In the first stage of sewage treatment, anaerobic breakdown takes place in the primary settlement chamber. The wastewater is introduced and the solids drop to the bottom, becoming separated from the liquid.
Stage 2: the aeration chamber
The next stage of the wastewater treatment involves aerobic breakdown. This takes place in the aeration chamber, where masses of naturally occurring bacteria inhabit specially designed filter media.
These bacteria are sustained with air, which is continuously supplied from a purpose-built pump in the unit’s top section. As the liquid flows slowly through the filter media, the bacteria feed on the waste and remove it from the liquid.
Stage 3: final settlement chamber
In the last stage of wastewater treatment, the liquid flows from the aeration chamber into the final settlement chamber. Suspended sludge consisting of bacteria is carried with the liquid into the settlement chamber and settles to the bottom of the chamber.
From there, a continuous sludge return system pumps it back to the primary settlement chamber. The remaining treated liquid now meets the required standard to be safely passed out of the Tricel system.

Each wastewater treatment plant is constructed of lightweight SMC and is easy to manoeuvre which simplifies the installation process.

PE represents the initials of Population Equivalent. Population equivalent: conversion value which aims at expressing non-domestic applications in terms of domestic loading based on 1 person creates 60 g/day BOD5 and 150l/day. (Code of Practice: Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems Serving Single Houses (p.e. < 10), EPA)
When used properly, the plant equipment and components are specifically designed or chosen to perform effectively in the Tricel facility. The guarantee is valid from the date of purchase. There is a slight “hum” from the air compressor when standing close to the plant. When installed correctly, the noise level will not be a nuisance.
The plant should not be affected by a temporary power outage. After a power cut, checking the plant to ensure it has restarted is essential. It may have an alarm after powering on, but it will fix itself after a few minutes.
In situations where gravity drainage cannot be used, pumped options are available The power outage shouldn’t last too long when you have pump options as power is required to remove the treated liquid. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
An audible and visual alarm is standard and will notify you if there is a problem with the air compressor and discharge pump (pumped plants only), but this does not replace regular inspections. A maintenance agreement is recommended with us to ensure the plant’s optimal performance. Contact us.
