A site suitability assessment – or Percolation Test as it is often more commonly known – is a requirement under statutory planning laws for any new home or business for which a new independent waste water treatment system is required in areas that do not have access to a public sewer network. 

In summary, this involves assessing your site and its characteristics to determine its suitability to treat wastewater initially in accordance with EPA Code of Practice and then design the most suitable solution for your site given the conditions encountered.Typically, this involves completing a desktop analysis of underlying bedrock, subsoils & geology, excavation of a trial hole to determine the water table and an analysis of the in-situ soils.
